| The company’s history
Aqua Select GmbH was founded in 1987 by the current owners, Christoph Götz and Peter Paardekooper.
The idea was to improve drinking water by reducing the chlorine, lime and heavy metal content.
Aqua Select GmbH had developed a new kind of filtering system for water. Its special characteristic was an overflowing system, that prevents the cartridge from drying out and thus protects the filter granulate from germs (see schematical illustration on the right).
The patented protection preventing the cartridge from drying out is integrated in all Aqua Select Plus® water filters. The classic jug ”Aqua Select Plus® Glas” can still be found in our range of products, amongst many different jugs with new designs and digital sensors.
Aqua Select Plus® cartridges are not only produced for Aqua Select Plus® water filters, but fit in most systems produced by other manufacturers.
Today, the company has branches in Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Canada. Aqua Select Plus® products are successful worldwide and are exported to over 35 countries - from Argentina to Papua New Guinea.
The main focus of production lies on making table water filters and filter cartridges. On the international market, so-called “online-systems” that can be attached directly to the tap or shower are also on sale.
